Ireland Bound

My name is Aryn Fisher, I'm an Anthropology student at California State University, Chico and I was accepted to go to Field School in Ireland. I wish I could put into writing how excited I am, but every time I try it comes out as garbled nonsense.

I need to go to field school, its just one of those things you're supposed to do... and so I'm looking through field schools and this one comes up that just floors me. Black Friary Ireland, a 13th century site in Ireland being excavated by eager students. I debated applying for awhile and then talked to a few of my professors who told me they thought it was an exceptional idea.

I applied and waited for the worst, assuming I didn't have the requirements to be an attendee in such an opportunity. This morning, Monday, March 3rd, 2014, I was accepted to the Black Friary Field school. I have never been so humbled or excited or scared in my life. Also... this is the best Monday ever!

The purpose of this blog is to capture my journey as I hopefully travel to Ireland and how I get there and make progress in fundraising and preparation for my assumed trip. I am accepting donations on http://www.gofundme.com/fieldschoolplea . Any and all donations are accepted.

I am also looking for travel advice and anything I may need to be prepared for. So if there are any Irish natives or for those of you lucky enough to have traveled there I'd loved to here about your experiences.

Thank you for your time, energy and support.

Much love,
Aryn
